Meditation is your opportunity to listen and have a direct connection with God. It may involve just a few moments of time to begin. All you need to do is get into a comfortable position, close your eyes relax and breathe. If this is new for you focus only on the breath as your body eases into a relaxed state; stay with the inhalations and exhalations. You may have mind chatter going on in your thoughts, do not worry about the disruptions, and continue to focus on the breath. If you did not experience some distracting thoughts in your mind, this is ok, most likely you would no longer be on the earth plane with us. Enjoy the experience and keep an open heart, inhale through the nose exhale through the mouth; continue to relax.
In the beginning, you may only feel relaxed and that is a wonderful place to start. Sometimes as a result of meditation, you may have an insight at another time, not necessarily in that moment. As time progresses, with regular practice, you may receive new perceptions or ideas that will pertain to your soul’s purpose within the meditation or the insights may be more frequent. Each individual receives information in different ways; some may have a knowing (with no rational explanation why), you may experience a “gut feeling;” some may heard physically or in their mind or visually see something. Another experience is that people will smell scents. The scent would be related to the individual, for instance if their deceased loved one smoked cigars, they may smell the cigar; while others may smell flowers or perfume. Some people may feel a sense of peace and that is a perfect meditation for that individual.
The relaxation will be an opportunity to give yourself a break and for your consciousness to remember you are a soul with a temporary human experience while here on earth. In other words, give yourself a gift, relax and let all hang out, baby.
